Aww, look who finally did one~!

Actually, I've been intentionally putting this thing off for weeks. I feel like I'm coming to the confession booth or something with this thing, but I think it's finally time I come clean about everything. So, please treat me kindly while I explain my opinion~! Oh, and please don't try to start a shipping/flame/any kind of war with me, because I'll just ignore you. Wars usually make me depressed for two weeks and I don't have time for that. Thank you for respecting my opinion and I'm happy to respect yours~!

So with that out of the way, let's get on to the explanations, shall we?

Red Ships - OTPs:

Now, I'll be honest here, since that's kind of what I'll be doing this whole description, but I don't really mind multishipping. As far as Hetalia goes, almost every ship has SOME reasons behind it, and if a person likes more than one that's cool. For me, though, while I might LIKE other ships, there are a few that are my particular favorites. These are the ones that I'll ship to my grave (or until I loose interest in Hetalia) and that I'll actually take the time to defend and argue for. They're also my #1 ships for the characters involved, so there will be only ONE red underneath a character. After all, OTP stands for one true pairing!

GermanyxItaly or GerIta

I actually feel bad for people who don't like this pairing, since you probably have to explain a lot more to people why you don't ship it than why you do. Actually, when I first started watching Hetalia, I thought "Oh, this is going to be the yaoi couple everyone just loves and it's going to be freaking annoying." I was kind of looking at it like the new SasuNaru or SuzaLulu, you know, the best friends with tension that everyone fawns over? GerIta lacks one thing that those pairings have, though, and that's the desire to kill one another. Thus, all the annoying fangirls argue about less-appealing pairings, while everyone gathers under the sunshine and happiness to ship GerIta together, save a few Scrooges who are left to their vices. It really does make a pairing SOOO much more likeable when the fanbase doesn't try to shove it down your throat, and since the need rarely arises, people don't shove GerIta down each other's throats.

That said, it takes a lot more than friendly popularity to make a ship one of my favorites, but GerIta has what it needs. First off, they way they interact is just lovely. They know each other very well and can pretty much talk about anything with each other with full confidence. Although they are completely different, they legitimately like one another and see the positive qualities in each other underneath some of the things others criticize (such as Germany's gruffness or Italy's white flags.) Also, if you buy into the whole Germany=HRE theory, their story's actually really touching. It's a story about being able to find each other and fall in love again despite the forces that try to keep you apart, making it very much like one of my all-time favorite anime couples, Sakura and Syaoran. It's a kind of love story that rarely fails and I really hope Himaruya-sensei finishes their story...that way I can say "HA, IN YOUR FACE" to all the anti-Germany=HRE fans out there. My humblest apologies for having this desire!

AmericaxJapan or Ameripan

Probably the least popular of my favorites. I actually never thought I'd ship this, as I really loved their relationship in the anime and webcomics as friends, but after actually visiting Japan my younger sister became obsessed with this pairing and dragged me down into a spiral of craziness and shipping. However, this isn't really as bad a ship as people make it out to be, and that's including some of the supporters of it. Their interactions in the anime, despite having been enemies, are almost always positive, and they seem to be able to bring out the best in one another, Japan being able to open up and show more emotions around America while America seems to be able to tone it down somewhat when Japan's around. It's kind of a perfect "opposites attract" scenario that works really well. As for the WWII issues that most people have with this pairing, that's actually one of the great things about it. Despite how strong our enmity was during those times, America and Japan have become very strong allies in present times, and even have a strong interest in each other's cultures. If this pairing were to ever become cannon, it would be a wonderfully beautiful story about changing for the better and forgiving your enemies. So, yeah, my sister talked me into this one. XD

FrancexEngland or FrUK

Back before I shipped anything in Hetalia, I eventually realized that the desire to kill one another was needed to make a ship overwhelmingly and annoyingly popular, and so I let GerIta off the hook. Ah, I said to myself. So then the ship that everyone is going to obsess over is clearly France and England. They're constantly arguing, but always together, and they'll even team up against any third party who tries to enter the argument. Not only that, but they kind of had a bit of a custody battle over America, and they even grew up together. Heck, as a child England seemed all too eager to emulate the great France, even if he was too shy to admit it. Why, there's even an episode where France proposes to England for crying out loud! This is most certainly the ship that everyone's going to jump aboard and try to shove in my face.

Ahem, so yeah. In my personal opinion, this ship, next to GerIta, has the most reasons in the anime/webcomics to support it without being 100% cannon. In fact, some have even called it semi-cannon, which I wouldn't hesitate much to agree with. If you still aren't convinced, rather than explain myself, I'll direct you to another lovely journal called Reasons to Support FrUK.

RussiaxChina or RoChu

I cannot express how much I freaking adore this freaking pairing. I didn't like it at all at first, but then I happened across the wiki page for it and then read a fluff fic and it was all smooth sailing from there. These two are actually my favorite characters in the whole series, but they're both treated so terribly both by other characters and even by fans. I don't really understand why since they're both freaking adorable, but hey, at least they can love and support each other, right? I'd love to go on, but then I'd keep you here all day, and besides, I've already explained why I love this ship in my Reasons to Support RoChu journal.

So since I've now given you a lot to read up on regarding my favorite pairing, let me make a few things perfectly clear. I do NOT ship this because they're communists. Communism is not cute. That's both shallow and insulting, when the history between these two goes much deeper and farther back. Also, given that I've just provided you with 50 historical and canonical reasons to support this pairing, please don't tell me this pairing has no sense at all. That just makes you look ignorant because you're throwing around "facts" that are far from true and that you haven't done research to back up. Another thing, if you do support this pairing, please don't come to me with your smut fics and doujinshi. China's a country where even kissing before marriage is frowned upon and Russia's a child in a man's body, so I support this couple as nothing more than 100% cute, clean fluff. I don't find this pairing sexy at all, so I'll have none of that. And my final pet peeve regarding my favorite pairing...please just let the war between RoChu and RusAme shippers die. It's not going to do any good and it can only end in tears and misery for both ends. So if you support RoChu, then go support RoChu and leave the RusAme shippers alone. If you support RusAme, be good little fans and do likewise.

CanadaxUkraine or...CanUkr? Cankraine

Hey, not every pairing I support has to be uber popular or have a million historical and canonical reasons behind it. Sometimes a little cuteness and a bit of sweet history between two adorable yet ignored characters is enough to make me fall in love all over the place. So, yeah, they don't exactly have interactions in the anime, but their history is still pretty cute. Actually, Canada was the first country to acknowledge Ukraine's separation from the Soviet Union, and their relations have stayed strong until today, with Canada sending humanitarian and development aid to Ukraine, and there's plenty of educational contacts between the two. In fact, there's actually an entire website dedicated to the alliance between the two countries: canadaukraine.com/index.html Besides, part French or no, Canada's the type of person who I think would be able to see Ukraine as more than just a walking pair of breasts, and hopefully Ukraine would be able to see Canada as more than just a floating bear. ^-^ My love for this couple runs really deep, and I wish more people supported this..."

EDIT: So I got talking to some others who supported this and was given more reasons to do so. Since I really love this pairing and am always happy to defend it, I'm totally good with adding more reasons to this meme. ;w; Apparently, Canada has the third largest population of Ukrainian people (only having fewer than Russia and Ukraine itself), offers Ukrainian as a foreign language in many schools, and even has a Ukrainian Cultural village (as well as the world's largest Pysanky)! Another interesting fact I learned is that Ukraine and Canada have a similar relationship to Amerca and Japan, with Ukrainian people who came from the Austro-Hungarian Empire being forced into camps as "enemy aliens" during WWI. The Canadian government apologized and has offered several grants to the decendants of those victims. That's pretty sweet. There was also a bilateral agreement signed by both countries to form a "joint declaration of a "Special Partnership" between the to countries." A fan of the two can't help but read into that a little. Also, Canada not only is one of the few countries that recognized the Holodomor as an act of genocide, and the first public monument to the Holodomor was erected in 1983 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Just some other interesting facts that show the strong relations between these countries.

SpainxBelgium or SpaBel...Spelgium?

I know absolutely nothing about the history between these two. I don't even know how much there is. I'm just a humongous fan of the Tomato Family. When I read the strips with Spain and Chibimano, I just couldn't help but see Spain and Belgium as like the Mama and Papa figures in the tomato gang. XD I don't like hardcore ship this all over the place like some of my others, but I do really love it. I see it as kind of a really close couple that doesn't need to get all sappy to enjoy being together...just casually dating is enough for them. Anyway, that's just my feelings toward it.

HungaryxAustria or HunAus

Let me make this perfectly clear. I do not ship AusHun. I ship HunAus! < v > Sorry, I can't help myself sometimes. The main reason I love this couple so much is the role reversal. Hungary, in my opinion, is just a wonderful character and the way she is determined to be Austria's Prince Charming and sweep him off his feet is hilariously wonderful. XD Unfortuately, cannon though I feel this is, it's not widely acknowledged and I feel that's due to other pairings being so much more popular. Even those who sit down and try to list the only cannon pairings in Hetalia will argue this one, saying their marriage was only temporary and doesn't solidify anything. But didn't their relationship continue after their divorce? I mean, we see on Valentine's day that Austria buys Hungary a Valentine's gift as if it's an obligation, and they go to the Halloween party as a couple. Why do people argue that this is cannon? Meh, I guess I'll never understand, and I don't need to. I just need to see Hungary pick up her wife bridal style and everything will be fine. ^^ (Yes, I ship Hungary as the husband and Austria as the wife. Got a problem?)

Okay, as funny as I originally felt my first explanation of this couple was, it didn't do it's job very well and seemed really shallow. They do actually have a great dynamic and I think they compliment each other amazingly well. I just didn't give any credit to it at all and laughed about how funny I thought Poland was. So, this warranted a rewrite.

First off, I have to give credit to Himaruya for writing the relationship between these two so well. You really do feel that they care about each other and are very close, despite being completely different, and it's not forced or overplayed at all. It just seems to come about naturally. Lithuania, for the most part, seems to be a fairly sensible guy who has the misfortune of being surrounded by extremely strange and demanding people way to often. So much so that being with America for a time was actually easy and enjoyable for him. However, where Poland's concerned that doesn't seem to matter too much. He just comes to this point where although he just accepts and goes along with everything crazy Poland does, and he doesn't seem to mind too much. He does complain here and there about how difficult Poland is, but even when he's under Russia's rule again he still calls Poland and even sends men out to watch over him because he's worried about Russia's plans to attack him. He actually seems to worry a lot more about Poland's welfare than Poland does. And Poland, despite being a rather selfish person who does shamelessly take advantage of Lithuania in certain situations, does show that he wants to look out for Lithuania much in the same way. He's a lot bolder than Lithuania, despite being terribly shy around strangers, and will stand up for him against pretty much anyone who picks on him, even Russia and Belarus. He even has to be the voice of reason where Lithuania's crush on Belarus is concerned, so it's not always Lithuania putting forth the work to look out for them both. But it's not just that, either. They don't have to be fighting in wars together or trying to protect each other from crazy Russians to stay close, they can just sit down and talk or play a game of chess and still enjoy themselves, even if Poland turns the situation upside down by the end.

Plus, when I think back, I think Himaruya handled the break-up between the United Kingdoms really well. He actually addressed it, for one, and their reunion after several years was actually kind of emotional. The way they were shown, these were two people who became so close that you could hardly separate them and they knew each other like the back of their hand. But then years later they come together again and realize that time has changed things and they don't know each other quite as well anymore. This even gets to Poland, who usually seems really unfocused on details and such. It's really brief, but their reactions to realizing there's things they don't know about the other really did get to me. It took a long time for me to start really shipping this because of how little attention I give to the Baltics, and it wasn't until I started roleplaying Poland and a close friend started roleplaying Lithuania with me that I actually paid them any mind. However, once I did I really started to see that their relationship is a really great one and I just love the two of them for it.

SwedenxFinland or SuFin

All of the fluff. All of the fluff all over the place! It's so fluffy I'm gonna die~!

Ahem, allow me to explain. I read doujins, you see. And fanfiction. And anything I can get my hands on, basically, and there is just so much fluffy cotton candy of these two out there that it's just way too much to ignore. I love it and all the fluff around it~! Heck, even their dog is fluffy~! And their child has England's eyebrows, making him also fluffy. Even their "marital" problems are fluffy, because it's all Finland misunderstanding Sweden's sweet, loving attempts to make him happy. (Keeping him warm at night, buying Sealand because Finland expressed an interest in maybe having a kid with them...he's just such a good husband~!) So, yeah. Fluffy pairings are a good thing. =w=

SealandxWy or SeaWy

I'm so sad that heterotalia is so unpopular. I mean, SeaLat is everywhere, but there's almost no love for SeaWy. These two are so adorable! I realize they don't have any history, but neither does SeaLat. Besides, no history is better than bad history. But oh well, BL is just part of Hetalia and hetero pairings will remain unloved. So I'll just stay here all by my lonesome and ship these two in their little bunny/dolly Halloween costumes. ;w;

Pink Ships - Still Gotta Love Ya

ItalyxChina or ItaChu (the Marco Polo pairing)

I'm going to answer your question now with a no. This pairing doesn't officially exist; its not acknowledged by the general fandom anywhere (they do, however, have an icon < w > ), and I've seen like, two separate fanarts of them and read two fanfics where they both played a main role...and one of them was a RoChu fic. So, in a sense I sort of just made this up. However, I somehow just really love the Marco Polo pairing! And it's not like it's complete crack either: there's the whole Marco Polo thing, so Italy would actually be the one who introduced China to the rest of the world, China left Italy out of the list of people that he hated (he included everyone else in the Axis and Allies), Italy even sort of took his cooking style from China (noodles were first created in China after all.) Even more than that, they actually do have relations in real life, though most of those seem entirely one-sided on Italy's side. Chinese representatives were invited to Italy's Congress Party (which the Chinese declined. Poor Italy got shot down. v.v), and sinology (the study of all things Chinese) is a very successful profession in Italy. The two have expressed interest in forming stronger ties in the future as well.

But, hey, all those things are great, but that's more of just me trying to defend something I didn't know had any defense. XD If I'm being honest, I just adore the two of them so freaking much. To me, feels and cuteness take priority over everything else, and Italy and China are both full of feels and cuteness, so them together is too adorable~! A big selling factor for me was an adorable RoChu fic where Italy gave China dating advice and when it worked, Italy thought it best to celebrate by planting a big wet one right on China's lips...so I started shipping even though it was a RoChu and GerIta fic. XD It was just too dang sweet. Yeah, RoChu is still my favorite ship, with GerIta tied with FrUK as my second, but I could still ship these two all the way. For now, I'm good with seeing them as friends, and Hima-papa was even nice enough to draw an adorably pretty pic of the two which is saved happily on my hard drive. (I'm starting to think I just have a thing for pairing my favorite character with the main character. *thinks back to other anime* Well, I guess not. XD Happens often, though.)

I only started liking this very recently. It kind of came to me after I got this Thailand MMD model that, hey. They'd be kind of cute together. He's the one she went to for smiling coaching after all. XD Besides, I really like Vietnam and I think she deserves such a cheerful guy after all she's been through. It'll be good for her. (I honestly know nothing of their history together, so I can't really speak for that. )

JapanxTaiwan

I used to ship this all the way, but slowly my love for it died out. I still really like it though, because the fanart is pretty and Taiwan does seem to like Japan a lot, but this pairing's history is riddled with angst and it has a much more unhappy ending than Ameripan does so far. I still save fanart of them, though. Taiwan's just too pretty to pass up well-done fanart of her. ^w^

So yeah, this is the ship that my friend likes so much. Really, I'm a FrUK fangirl all the way, and would never stray from it, but as a lover of fluff I can admit when something is really fluffy. This is a couple I've always understood, both for historical and canonical reasons, and thanks to my friend I've now seen/heard of enough fluffy doujins to get me to like this. Is it my favorite? No. Is FrUK still my second favorite pairing in Hetalia tied with GerIta? Of course it is. But EnglandxJapan is highly underrated in my opinion, and there's not really anything bad to say about it. It's just a nice, warm and fuzzy pairing and I can appreciate it for that.

Ahem. Yeah, I like this one only because Holland sends thousands of flowers every year. Yeah, there's a cute reason behind it involving Canada's aid in WWII, but flowers~! Friggin' flowers! Nothing else matters! Well...except CanUkr, which is more adorable anyway so...I'll just leave this in the pink and fangirl over the freaking flowers. =w=

S. ItalyxAlbania OC

Ah, so now we get into the Romano ships. I really wanna ship him with somebody, okay?! And I really like hetero ships with him because he's an attractive Italian.

Oh, wait. We're talking about this one? ....No, I don't have an Albania OC. I'm just saying that if Albania had a character, I'd ship them. XD The history between Italy and Albania is pretty dang cool, and there's even a name given specifically for the Albanian people of Italy: the Arbëreshë people! Plus, the Kingdom of Italy supported the Albanian Declaration of Independence in 1912, and the Italian protectorate over Albania, Italian colonists...the only reasons I specifically picked South Italy for this was mostly because I want someone to ship Romano with and the Albanian embassy is in Southern Italy.

S. ItalyxLiechtenstein

Say what you want, but I think it works. There's actually a bunch of relations between Switzerland and Italy, and a few of those relations go through Switzerland to Liechtenstein. Also, there is that thing floating around about how Liechtenstein is the true heir to the Holy Roman Empire (which I think is bullcrap) so I suppose there is a bit of history there. Mostly, though, it's the relations between Italy and Switzerland and since I think two short tempered tsunderes together would be too chaotic, so let's transfer it over to the sweet, adorable girl so that Romano can hopefully soften up a bit. The one thing that keeps me from really picking this as my Romano ship is that...I'm not really sure if this is pushing the boarder on pedophilia or not. I mean, Romano's human age is listed in his 20s and Liechtenstein is definitely younger than 18 since that's Switzerland's age...I don't know, is it going too far? I mean, I've tried looking at them together and it kinda looked like that...

S. ItalyxSeychelles

Unlike a lot of people, I don't mind Seychelles ships. I mean, I don't particularly strongly support any of them, but yeah, I don't care. Let people ship what they want. Seychelles never shown any interest in anyone anyway, so the bullcrap about her "getting in the way of yaoi" is really silly. The only reason I kind of like this one is because of a YouTube MMD user called CaptainAki13 who's done a bunch of cute things with the two of them, so yeah. I'm good with it.

PrussiaxHungary

Yeah, this is mostly here because I get it so much. I mean I totally know why this is so popular. It is pretty cute and it actually gives some attention and love to heterosexual Hetalia ships. Personally, though, I just prefer the relationship between them to be like a bromance. You know, a pair of really close male friends even though one of them is a...girl. It sort of furthers my "manly Hungary" view. I totally loved it when Prussia tried to get Hungary to go hunting with him, for example. It's the kind of thing close male buddies would do. Still, I do totally support Prussia having a crush on Hungary, I just have trouble seeing Hungary returning those feelings.

EstoniaxUkraine

I had actually never thought about this until some troll who was obsessed with Estonia created a hate group for this pairing. How vicious she was toward Ukraine, my favorite female character in Hetalia, ticked me off so much that I wanted to troll her with EstUkr...and in the process I started liking it. XD I still love Cankraine a whole lot more, but this pairing has a special place in my heart due to that experience. Estonia's probably the only other person I'd allow near Ukraine anyway. =w= He's pretty mellow, and I think she needs that. Besides, having him sneak around Russia to go out with Ukraine is a pretty cute idea. Their relations aren't as strong as Canada and Ukraine (from what I know), but it's enough for me to like it.

LithuaniaxBelarus

Can I just point out that Lithuania's absolutely insane? How does being terrified of Russia but having a huge crush on Belarus work? He even tried to say that his fingers maybe just were able to bend in weird directions rather than be terrified or scream in agony when she broke his fingers because, hey, she held his hands~! I actually really liked this one for awhile and thought I'd ship this for a long time, but my love for Poland took over. v.v I still do ship this, though, because Lithuania's nonsense crush on Belarus is pretty darn cute.

Well this was...random. I'll be honest and say I've been on a Belarus trip lately. By that I mean I've just been feeling really sorry for her. I don't want to pair her with Russia, but I DO want her to get with someone. So, um...what did I do? Well, I went and looked up Belarusian foreign relations of course! The best ones were between Belarus and Serbia and Belarus and Azerbaijan but, sadly, neither country has a character. Then I happened across the Belarus-Denmark relations page. While there wasn't a lot, it was nothing but good things: Denmark providing a ton of aid to Belarus and helping to prevent human trafficking and such. While it wasn't a lot, the idea of someone as confident and happy as Denmark being with someone like Belarus just made me smile. It would be a freaking cute pairing! And they did interact a little bit in the webcomics: specifically one of the Halloween events. Denmark's cheerful and encouraging reactions to Belarus's threats concerning the costume contest fit right along with that. Picture it: Belarus, a country who can only think of her brother and who treats everyone coldly. Then Denmark, a country who reacts absolutely not at all to that kind of behavior and just continues being happy coming along just to help her out with nonsense things. He would absolutely baffle her at first, but I could see her hopefully warming up to him. The two countries have expressed a desire to form stronger relations in the future so there's a tiny ray of hope. Maybe the pairing itself doesn't officially exist, but I can still like it. =w=

Someone suggested this to me once, and I thought it was a cute idea. Since then I've actually found a lot of reasons to like them together. First off, they're the only pairing involving any of the micronations (that I know of) that actually has some relations. They do live right next to each other, so that's not surprising. Second, they're the only characters in Hetalia I know of that have actually gone on an official date. Seborga, being the Italian that he is, asked her out and she thought that actually sounded fun. She agreed to go out with him if he beat her at poker. Though she won, she went out with him anyway. I thought that was pretty cute. >w< Finally...you guys all know I love height differences. Did you know that Monaco is shorter than Liechtenstein and that Seborga is taller than either of the Italies? Might not be the best reason, but it's enough for me.

Purple Ships - Oh, Yeah. I Can See That.

These are basically all the ships that I either understand, don't mind, or am completely neautral towards. Sure, I have some reasons for not shipping some of them, but a good number of them I'm just totally "meh" towards. Yeah, they're there and I don't really mind. Since there's so many I'm just going to leave it like that but explain just a few that I feel need explaining.

PrussiaxItaly (either)

Well, Prussia did ask Italy out. And I do think the idea of him having like a little playful crush on Italy is kinda cute. XD And, yeah, I don't mind people that ship him and Romano as the older brothers who are overshadowed by their younger brothers. But either way, I ship GerIta completely and with all my heart, and I just like Romano in hetero pairings way too much, so yeah, I get this, I just don't do it myself.

AmericaxN. Italy

"Somebody told me my elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor, but I don't even have and elevator!"

Did you know Poland and Italy knew each other when they were little? And that they made the idiotic ejecting seats of death together? Or that Italians were voted the most likeable people in the world in Poland (with Lithuania totally getting snubbed...maybe they felt that was obvious~? < w >) Anyway, the reasons are there and the idea of the two airheads is cute enough, so I don't dislike this at all.

If you have questions, ask. All of these do actually have cute reasons, I just personally don't care. I do know all the reasons to ship them, though.

AmericaxS. Korea

Well...our relations now certainly do give more than enough reasons to ship it. XD I sort of feel like any country America has tried to protect is alright to ship with him. Sort of why I don't mind AmericaxChina either (we did try to help them during WWII.) I just feel like AmericaxS. Korea makes a tad more sense than AmericaxChina due to the fact that now, well...we don't get along so well. ^-^

EnglandxN. Italy

After playing HetaOni........yeah, I don't mind if people ship them. XD It's totally cool with me.

You know, I actually shipped this for awhile. I didn't say anything about it before, though, because I completely forgot why. Thankfully, someone commented on this deviation and reminded me. I actually got the idea for this around the time I first started studying Chinese history. At the time, I didn't even know the pairing even existed, but as Vietnam was the first country I read about, it seemed to me like she would be the oldest of the Asians after China. I can't remember if that's even actually true or not, but I kind of liked the idea of them being like the Mother and Father of the Asians. Sure, their history is pretty bad, and that's probably why I stopped shipping it, but I must confess my headcannon was that whenever Vietnam got mad at China she'd smack him over the head with her paddle and run away, and he'd have to chase her down to get her back. XD Of course, besides that I had them pretty much getting along. Maybe it's my inability to see China in a negative light, I dunno I can still sort of see them being sort of each other's first love or something...even if I'm taking quite a few liberties with it...I'm probably way contradicting myself with this pairing though. >.>

And it wasn't a lot, actually. Anyway, totally don't ship this, never have, and never will...it's just the fact that it's the first couple I read fanfiction for kinda made it so that...I had no choice but to not mind it. If I did, I'd be a hypocrite.

Well, yeah. I actually don't really feel passionate about this one at all, so I can't go on a huge long rant about it like I did with some of the past ones. This is just sort of what I'd probably ship if, you know, RoChu weren't like my favorite freaking ship in all of the world of Hetalia. One of the good things about it is that it's actually cute, instead of just one of those ships where Russia's only depicted as an abusive, sadistic rapist, which I despise. Lithuania is Russia's favorite of the Baltics, and he even called Lithuania his ex in one strip. Plus, Lithuania's the one Russia told his dreams for the future to. To be honest, I think Himaruya's leaning more towards this couple than RoChu or LietPol, but I dun particularly care. I'll ship what I want. XD And it is a pretty darn good ship anyway, with plenty of fluff. It's kind of similar to SuFin in a lot of ways, with Russia just being a tad more on the crazy side. But I don't see a lot of hate for this couple, so I don't feel the need to defend it at all. I think everyone kind of gets it at this point. XD EDIT: Well, I don't particularly like this one anymore. Not that I don't like it, but I didn't care for it much to begin with. The bit that cared is all but gone now, so I just don't care anymore.

I have a confession. I don't mind incest in Hetalia. What I do mind is romantic relations in Hetalia between characters who SEE each other as siblings. Granted, Russia sees them as siblings, but Belarus is madly in love with him. Since I have seen Belarus depicted in a sympathetic light, I don't really mind if people give her what she wants. I just can't ship it because Russia's my second favorite character and he's terrified of her.

This is kind of a similar case to RussiaxBelarus. The major difference, though, is that these two aren't really related. In that sense, I actually feel bad for S. Korea. He becomes totally infatuated with someone but that person sticks him in a worse place than the friend zone...the brother zone. Dun dun DUUUUUUUN! But then, of course, all that sympathy for him is washed away by his groping. v.v If he can't have something, he'll force it I guess. Anyway, I don't like it because I know S. Korea gives China no end of grief and hardships, but I don't mind it because in a way, I pity Korea. Besides, I actually do really like Korea's character and am sad people find him so offensive. (And yeah, he is offensive...but he's still loveable in his own way.)

I actually just forgot to mention this one before rather than changing my opinion. Yeah, it has a couple historical things about it (it's called the Silk Road Pairing for a reason), but most of the people I've met who like it ship it more because they're old rather than because of any historical reasons. (Bear in mind, this is just who I've met. I'm not generalizing anyone.) Personally, I'm not too into this pairing, but I really can't mind it for one incredibly selfish reason: DAAAANG is the fanart of these two pretty. ;w;

Yeah, this one moved up the ranks a little bit. That's not because I had someone talk me into it or even gave me any reason to care about it in the least. I just got over my issues. I still get annoyed by the spam I get of this pairing, but I really don't have any legitimate reasons to dislike it and everyone's entitled to like what they want. As much as I may want to hate on this because those who ship it don't often seem to care to hear about my opinions, that's their choice and it's just a silly thing to let bother me. So no. I don't care for this pairing in the slightest. However, I don't have any reason to hate on it, so I'll let it be. As long as it does it's best to exist far away from me and I can have my occasional Cankraine fix, this pairing and I will have no qualms.

Well, this one used to bother me a little because I thought there was some really bad history between these two. Turns out I was way off, and most of the things I thought happened never did. Actually, they used to be a united kingdom like Austria and Hungary or Poland and Lithuania, so I really can't complain about this couple. I still can't say I like it since I only JUST found this out, and I still stand by the fact that Norway calls Denmark "brother." However, I certainly don't mind this couple anymore. Ship it to your heart's content!

I actually like Seychelles, and I actually can't stand people who hate her for "getting in the way of yaoi." It's stupid, ridiculous, and utterly pointless. It's not even cannon, so how can she get in the way of anything? When has she expressed interest in any character? The shipping with her only happens because of a dating sim that was made for YOUR enjoyment. So leave her alone! Besides, I think RussiaxLithuania is kind of cannon, and even I don't say that gets in the way of RoChu, which is my favorite couple! People who say a character "gets in the way" of a couple are kind of idiotic, no offense intended. (But then, it also kind of is.)

Blue Ships - I Love You...Like Family

Yeah, this is pretty self-explanitory. These are the ships that I don't support because I love their familial relationships too much. That doesn't mean I don't like them, it just means I like them as FAMILY. Hong KongxChina for example. I just adore their relationship so much and I actually read fanfics and doujinshi about them...but it's all family-related. I'd never ship them, but I still adore them. And, yeah, since this is getting long, I'll just leave this at that.

Green Ships - I'm Sorry, I Just Don't Get It

These are the ships that I just don't like. It's not like I absolutely can't stand them, I just...really don't like them and could never ever be pursuaded to like them, so don't try. It's just the way it is. Some of them I can't explain, I just don't like them, so I'm leaving them out, but don't try to sway me to your side. It won't happen.

...I hate this. No, I'm really sorry, but I hate this. Like, I have a TON of friends who ship this and so I was kind enough for their sake to put this in the green, but it really should be a black ship. I don't understand this at all! This is nothing like France and England, these two countries have never liked each other! I don't find it sexy, since I don't find anything involving Russia "sexy," and besides, they're both dominant characters. I can like ships between submissive characters, but not dominant characters. That just holds no appeal for me. Besides, for this couple to work one of them would have to give in to the other, wouldn't they? And neither of them would ever do that for anyone, especially not each other. In fact, if these two came together it would destroy one country or the other. The sex is gross, the history is terrible, the chemistry is non-existent, and there's no fluff at all! Their personalities, ideals, beliefs, and everything just clash so much and I only see this a a recipe for chaos. I've tried, for the sake of friends, to like it, but no matter what I do I just can't force myself to enjoy this...at all.

England Ships

Yeah, all of the green ships here are for the same reason. England was a right jerk back in the day, and I can't support couples because of war. The way England treated each of these countries (each in their own way) was just terrible and I just can't ship them.

Russia Ships

For everything that hasn't been mentioned here...I really really really hate it when Russia's depicted as a psycho rapist! I mean, really despise it! Russia is one of my favorite characters, and seeing him depicted that way just makes me sick to my stomach. And for all these ships, that's generally how he is depicted. The only one not listed under Russia that I really dislike is RusPrus, and that's just because I ran out of room. It's down under Prussia though. So anything that depicts Russia as something he's not will definitely go here.

It's just that way too often I see Hungary written as a lesbian because she's a manly woman. She's really not. She's closer to a transgender gay. She may have thought she was male at one point, but she has always been attracted to other men. So, I don't hate this because of specific ships or anything. I just hate it because it's an inacurate depcition of Hungary's character. If you like a specific ship because of specific reasons, then that's totally cool, though. Ship what you want.

I usually can't stand people saying they hate a ship because it's popular...but I don't like this one because it's popular and has nothing at all to support it. They interact ONCE in the entire webcomic, and never anywhere else. That and there's no history between them at all. I might like some pairings that have fewer reasons than others, but I at least have to have SOME reason. I just don't get this.

Black Ships - Please! Just Let Me Die! ;A;

So now...the only two pairings I put in black. It's really hard to get me to despise a ship, but these two somehow managed it (though RusAme should be here, too...) I'm really sorry in advance to those who like these pairings, and please don't take this personally, but I will probably die hating these.

This is honestly the most sick and demented pairing in the series! Not only does it pair characters who see each other as siblings, but it also has pedophilia AND people liking it because of war!!! And don't you try to tell me that it's not actual incest, because I'm not biologically related to my dad, but he still raised me. Would YOU have sex with someone who raised you from the time you were a baby? If so, you have serious issues. In fact, not even brothers, England is more like America's parent! This is like pairing Sweden and Sealand! This isn't sexy, this isn't cute, this is completely sick. But, then, there are other pairings like this that I don't hate this much, so why does this one get me? Well...the fans. Again, I'm so sorry if you like this, but I'm really tired of the rabid USUK fans! Those that claim this is cannon are so beyond hopeless, and I've had people come and try to shove this thing down my esophagus like you wouldn't believe. So, no. Not GerIta. Not FrUK. This is the annoying pairing that everyone loves.

I hate this pairing so much. It absolutely disgusts me, and I will never, ever in my life like this pairing. Don't try to make me think otherwise, because it won't work.

In case you haven't guessed, this is the pairing I hate the most. Whenever I see fanart of this, whenever I see someone fangirl over this, and any time I've read a fanfic that included this, I loose a little hope in humanity. I mean, why do people pair this?! The way England treated China was horrible. I mean, he took over half of the country, forced drugs into his body with everything from pipes to needles, ripped Hong Kong away from him when he tried to fight back, and yet people try to say this is cute?! The only way I can ever see this pairing happening is as a domestic violence relationship, which isn't cute at all! I'm sick of reading fics where England rapes China and Hong Kong, and I'm even more sick of people trying to ignore their cruel history or call it "cute." No. England and China are not Hong Kong's mommy and daddy. Wake up and see reality. The reality is that England treated China like dirt, and to punish him for trying to be anything other than dirt he kidnapped Hong Kong. China is my favorite character in Hetalia, and England is another character I love, but shipping this...puts them both in a horrible light. For England to do some of these things to China is somewhat understandable from a distance, when you think you need to because of business. They're countries, and some things happen. But for him to do this to someone he had feelings for? That would be despicable, disgusting, and unforgivable. I love these characters, and I don't want to see England depicted as a horrible, despicable, downright evil person and I don't want to see China depicted as a weakling or a toy.

If USUK makes me sick, then this pairing sent me to the morgue. Thanks to this pairing, I am now rotting six feet under, and the only course of action is to avenge me by obliterating this pairing. Please, if you can give me even the slightest reason why this couple would ever work even the smallest amount, then go ahead and tell me, because as it stands, I can only see this as a sick and demented pairing. So a bit of interesting trivia: every year in China, RoChu has dominated polls as the most popular Hetalia pairing. It's not surprising, really, considering their close relations, but surprisingly, last year IggyChu actually beat it out (though thankfully RoChu's back in first place this year.) Apparently, the Chinese view on England is that, since everything that they did is in the past and they returned all the territories they took for one reason or another, there's really no reason to hold a grudge against them. All the same, I still despise it and think those who find their history "cute" are messed up in the head, but I think it's kind of nice to know that the Chinese aren't holding an endless grudge about it. It seems like the Chinese ship them more as characters than countries, anyway, which I don't particularly mind nearly as much. Just an interesting something I found out. (Ironcially, Hong KongxChina and AmericaxChina are really popular in China as well. JapanxChina is not at all, though. There's a big surprise.)
